Shishapangma Expedition -Tibet

This youngest among the 14th highest peaks world’s eight-thousanders, Chishapangma (8035 m.) lies totally within the Chinese autonomous region Tibet. The Tibetans regarded it as the very holy mountain. It was first climbed by the Chinese in 1964. There are three distinct climbing routes on the Southwest face with several other logical possibilities on the West Ridge and East face. Our route picks up from Nyalam, 33km from the Nepal / Tibet border, up to the Chinese base camp at an altitude of about 5000-5400m. The trek to Base Camp takes about three to five days via the Nyanang Phu Chu valley.
Some times the extra additional days are also required for acclimatization at different places until climbers succeed the summit. If the climber succeeded the mountaineering early than the scheduled duration they may leave the base camp before the prescribed time as well.
